Safe ICT NZ was set up in 2019,

to inform and protect New Zealanders

regarding technology or ICT safety

 

• To provide information about biological, health and environmental impacts of

        information and telecommunications technology based on scientific literature
        and with scientific experts as sources.

• Promote Safer ICT practices, mitigation of ICT risks, and reduction of ICT

        environmental risks.

• Promote understanding of the ALARA principle ("As Low As Reasonably

        Achievable") which is the gold standard of radiation safety, requiring that all
        necessary radiation exposures are kept as low as possible, balancing social
        and economic factors, minimizing unnecessary doses through three cardinal
        methods time, distance, and shielding.

• Enable our communities to make choices that protect their personal health,

        their communities health as a whole, and maintain guardianship of our
        Whenua and reduce environmental damage caused by unwise choices.

• Encourage debate; expose and discuss problems with the competing

        arguments regarding safety to allow more informed consent in relation to RF
        exposures.

• To discourse with governing bodies regarding ICT safety, environmental

         impacts, legislation, public messaging, research science findings and
        independent experts in this field.

• To promote practices that give non-digital alternatives and allow the Electro-

         sensitive individuals to participate fully in society.

• To raise money for the purposes of informing and enabling of health protection

         in relation to ICT

• To take all possible steps to ensure new technology is safety tested (and

          found to be safe) for both humans and other living organisms before
         implementation in New Zealand.

• To do all other lawful acts as are incidental or conductive to the attainment of

         any and all of the above purposes.

• To take all possible steps to ensure the good digital hygiene (personal

        protective practices regarding data and security) privacy, and safeguarding of
        personal bio-metric information of New Zealanders, including the protection
        from Government overreach and exclusion in relation to information and
        communications technology.
